Dan Gross is a 6’3” two-foot dunker who plants left-right. His signature is the 360 inverter.
The inverter is a between-the-legs dunk finished with the ball passed under the body from front to back, which forces the hips open at the top of the jump. Doing it out of a full spin means starting the rotation, completing the pass while the body is still turning, and squaring to the rim at the last possible moment. It is one of the harder dunks in the sport and only a handful of people list it as a signature.
He came up in the North Carolina scene and appears in the Dunkademics session filmed there, alongside the group that includes Travis Reynolds and Ben Hopkins. He is also in the channel’s 2023 year-end best-dunks compilation. Dunkademics puts out a best-dunks compilation at the end of every year, drawn from everything the channel filmed, and being in one is the closest thing to a selection the platform makes.
