Group C of the $500,000 DunkMan League contest is in the books, and it delivered exactly the kind of finish everyone was hoping for. Six dunkers went up, three made the finals, and it came down to Isaiah Rivera outlasting a stacked field to punch his ticket to the World Championship.
Isaiah Rivera Takes the Win
Isaiah Rivera came into Group C as one of the favorites, and he lived up to it. Pairing a 50.5-inch tested vertical with maybe the most creative dunk package in the sport, including his signature 360 Behind-the-Back Between-the-Legs, Isaiah separated himself from a talented group to take the win and the trip to the Finals.
A Stacked Finals
Isaiah wasn’t alone in the finals. Darius Clark and Vadym Piddubchenko both fought their way through to join him, and either one looked capable of taking the group on a different night. It made for one of the closest finals of the DunkMan League so far.
The Rest of the Field
Rounding out Group C were Aeramiah Binford, New Williams, and Hyrum Fechser, all bringing something different to the contest and making sure nobody was cruising to the finals.
Previous Winners and What’s Next
Isaiah Rivera now joins Cam Hazzard, who took Group A, and Dillan McCarthy, who won Group B, as the third dunker punching his ticket to the $500,000 World Championship. Three groups down, one to go: Mac McClung and the rest of Group D are up next week, and I’ll have the full breakdown as soon as it wraps.
