Anthony Height is a professional dunker from Englewood, California who stands 5'6" with a 50" vertical. He goes up off two feet from a left-right plant.
He got there early. Height dunked for the first time in sixth grade, somewhere around eleven or twelve years old, and assumed at the time that this was a normal thing for a kid to be able to do. His middle school shared a building with the high school, so he was already playing against older kids in the mornings, and one of them threw a ball that came off the rim high enough for him to go get it. He caught it, put it down, and immediately started walking back to see whether he could do it again.
The athletic profile behind it is genuinely strange. His standing vertical is unremarkable, somewhere in the low thirties, while his running vertical is 50". He broke his high school broad jump record as a freshman, a mark that had stood for more than twenty years, and clocks in the low 4.4s over forty yards. He also says that most of the time he is nowhere near full effort, which is either alarming or reassuring depending on how you look at it.
Dunkademics is a direct part of his story. He grew up on Billy Doran's early uploads, watching Young Hollywood and the rest of that generation, and at seventeen Billy saw a clip he posted and invited him out to a session. He has leaned toward shows over contests since, and has a 540 in the bag.
