Bishop Ukata is a 6'2" professional dunker from South Carolina with a 44" vertical. He goes up off two feet from a left-right plant, and his signature is the under both.

He came to the sport backwards. Most dunkers arrive through basketball; Bishop got into basketball through dunking. At twelve or thirteen he was watching Connor Barth, Jordan Southerland and Guy Oliver rather than playing, and the game itself came second.

His first dunk arrived at thirteen, a two-hand draw-one. Then nothing. He did not get another one until ninth or tenth grade, a gap of years between his first and his second, which is the part most people skip past when they talk about starting young. The bag he has now covers the under both, behind the back, 360 behind the back, the J-Rich and the scorpion.

What makes his game unusual is plant versatility. He was naturally a one-foot jumper before he ever went to two feet, then added a left-right two-foot takeoff on top of it. The result is that he jumps highest off left-right, performs most of his tricks off right-left, does his height checks left-right, and still carries a genuine one-foot bag underneath all of it. Very few dunkers develop more than one takeoff properly, because each one demands its own timing, and it lets him attack the rim from angles that are simply closed to most people. He also plays college basketball, currently at Patrick Henry Community College after redshirting his first year, a move he made specifically for the level of competition.
