Jordan Pimstone is a professional dunker and certified strength and conditioning coach from Los Angeles, and the older brother of Ethan Pimstone, who he also trains. He is 5'10" with a 7'9" standing reach and a 45" vertical, goes up off two feet from a left-right plant, and is known for his head-at-rim power finishes.
He played basketball, soccer and baseball as a kid, but only one of them ever held him. He remembers arriving early to his own soccer games and spending the whole time on the basketball courts next door, playing until the second kickoff forced him to stop. He could always outjump people taller than him without being anything close to elite, and he did the things most dunkers did growing up, stacking pillows to clear, jumping over tables, touching doorframes.
His first dunk came at thirteen, at 5'8", which is early. High school was less kind. He landed at a program that was one of the most competitive in the state and sent players to Division I nearly every year, arrived the same season as a new coach, and spent much of his time on the bench for reasons that had more to do with politics than performance. He also describes being badly overworked, which shaped how he coaches now.
The 45" is recent and deliberate. He spent years training inconsistently and sat in the high thirties, then committed to structured programming and tested 45 inches at Dunk Camp. He now coaches full time and built the Jump Backs system out of what he learned getting there, and he programs for Ethan, which means the programming behind Ethan's numbers comes from inside the family.
