Brendenn Oneil is a 6’0” two-foot dunker who plants right-left. His signature is the Spike Dunk, the volleyball finish where the ball is struck down through the rim rather than dropped through it.
The volleyball connection is not a metaphor. He came to dunking from volleyball, and the first Dunkademics video of him is framed exactly that way — a volleyball player trying dunking. The spike is the dunk that transfers most directly out of that sport: the approach, the plant and the arm swing are close to a volleyball attack, and the contact at the top is the same motion.
It is also one of the few dunks where the hand never wraps the ball, so there is nothing to adjust after contact. Either the strike is clean or it is not.
Dunkademics included him in both its 2024 year-end best-dunks compilation and its top ten craziest dunks of 2024, which is the shorter list.
