Mounir Konate, who dunks as Kmuni, is a 5’11” dunker based in Milan, Italy. He jumps off two feet with a left-right plant, and the dunk his name is attached to is a 360 inverter.
The inverter is a between-the-legs dunk finished with the ball passed under the body from front to back, which forces the hips open at the top of the jump and leaves very little room to get the ball back to the rim. Doing it out of a full 360 means starting the spin, completing the leg pass while the body is still rotating, and squaring to the rim at the last possible moment. At 5’11” there is no margin for a slow pass, since a taller dunker can be late and still reach. Konate’s version reads as one continuous motion rather than two moves stacked on top of each other.
He won the NXT LEVEL Dunk Contest at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Amsterdam 2026 in June, one of the individual titles awarded alongside the team competition. The World Tour dunk contest travels with the 3x3 circuit, so each stop draws its field from wherever the tour happens to be that week rather than from a single national scene. Konate took the dunk title on the weekend of June 19 to 21, the same weekend Baskets Bonn won their first World Tour championship.
Three weeks later he was in Paris for the 2026 Quai 54 World Streetball Championship, held July 10 to 12. Quai 54 is one of the longest-running streetball events in the world and its dunk contest field is pulled from several continents. Chen Dengxing won the contest by clearing seven people on a prop dunk, but the individual dunk that stood out across the weekend was Konate’s 360 inverter, which Dunkademics singled out in its recap of the contest.
He added another title a week after Quai 54. On July 19, 2026 he won the To The Tower contest at the Castel Beseno fortress in Trentino, Italy, in front of around 1,800 people, beating Mattia Meneghini and Luca Mastropasqua in a final where several dunks scored a perfect 50.
Away from contest weekends his footage has spread through session video rather than one viral clip. He has filmed a session with SBS Pravda, and his contest runs circulate through the European dunk scene under the Kmuni name.
Konate came up as 3x3 was turning the dunk contest into a regular fixture instead of an occasional exhibition. FIBA now stages a contest at nearly every World Tour stop and introduced a new format, DUNK MANIA, at the 2026 World Cup. For dunkers based in Europe that has meant a real competitive calendar and a broadcast audience, and a title like the one Konate won in Amsterdam now carries weight with the events and sponsors booking dunkers.
