Marco Favretto, who competes as Mr. Jump, is a 6’3” one-foot dunker from Milan, Italy, with a verified vertical of 110 centimetres, around 43 inches.
He won the first Italian national dunk title ever contested. At the Streetball Italian Tour finals in Riccione at the end of July 2016, the Streetball Dunker League crowned its first champion and Favretto took it, which also earned him selection to represent Italy at international events. The judging panel that night included the high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi.
He competed at Quai 54 in Paris in 2017, and in July 2023 he reached the final of the DKB dunk contest in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, the longest-running dunk contest in Italy. Rafal Lipinski won that year ahead of Favretto, Isaiah Rivera and Jordan Southerland, which is a final worth being in regardless of where you place.
His logged catalogue includes a dunk called the Gameover and a 180 version of it, an eastbay finished off a behind-the-back pass to himself. He also lists a bronze medal from the FIBA 3x3 World Tour in 2016, though that one comes from his own bio rather than from a published result.
Italy has produced a small but persistent group of contest dunkers, and Favretto is the one who was there first, winning the national title the year it was created and going to Quai 54 the year after. The Italian scene that now sends multiple names to DKB, Kings of Air and the Turkish BHS events was still forming when he won in Riccione.
