Cam Hazzard is a 20-year-old professional dunker from Dallas, Texas, and one of the 24 athletes selected for Shaq's DunkMan League. Known in the community as Hazardous Dunks, he may be the biggest sleeper in the entire league: a two-foot bouncer with a tested 50-inch vertical and a bag of 360 variations, from the 360 Underboth to the 360 Scoop and 360 Inverter, that few dunkers on the planet can match.
Cam's story is one of the most unlikely in the sport. He grew up watching Dunkademics with his cousin, who convinced him the dunks on screen were CGI and not physically possible, a myth he believed for years. He chased a college basketball dream until injuries redirected him: he tore both hamstrings as a sophomore, weeks after his first windmill, and returned six inches taller with dunking quietly taking over. He landed his first dunk in November 2021 at 15, and only started posting after Donovan Hawkins saw his clips and told him he jumped way too high not to have an Instagram.
From there his rise was rapid and largely unmeasured: he simply played and dunked four to five hours a day until his first-ever vertical test in 2025 read 47 inches. Then, in January, he shattered his hand in an intramural game, requiring surgery and permanent plates and screws. Three weeks after coming back, he tested a 50-inch vertical. Cam has his best dunking still ahead of him and is one of the most exciting young athletes to watch this summer.
